Monthly Archives: January 2013

For those of you wanting to engage with a different approach to expressive movement, and enrich your dancing with something new and thought-provoking, Ana Barbour has sent information about Cafe Reason’s current programme of Friday night classes at East Oxford Community Centre, taught by established local artists:

Cafe Reason Butoh Dance Theatre offers weekly open classes; no previous experience or particular level of fitness is necessary.  We also welcome dance and performing arts practitioners, as well as visual artists and musicians.  Classes are often accompanied by live music. Read More

A reminder – there is no contemporary class tomorrow Monday 21st January at URC, and no Drawing Dance workshop as originally scheduled either.  But Marina Collard will teaching next Monday 28th 12.00-2.00pm.

Monday 21st evening ballet class will be happening as usual – despite the weather – but there are no ballet classes next Saturday 26th because the Hall is unavailable to us.

Classes at URC resume on Monday 7th January, and what better way to kick off 2013 than with a series of contemporary classes with Marina Collard, who has recently joined the Oxford dance community, and brings a wealth of experience as a fine dancer and creative independent artist, having danced with leading contemporary companies and much in demand for teaching.  Marina will be teaching 4 classes aimed at dancers with experience at the usual time of 12.00-2.00pm on the following days:
7th, 14th, 28th January, 4th February. Read More
