Monthly Archives: November 2013

Now that December and the Christmas season is truly upon us, a note of clarification about the final dance classes of this term at URC, and the Christmas break.

Classes are continuing as usual into mid December with the final ballet classes of this term on Saturday 14th December.  There will however be one last Gentle Shakti Flow Yoga class with satya devi on Monday 16th 9.00am-10.00am.
The plan is to recommence classes on Thursday 9th January 2014, with the first Saturday classes on 11th January and Monday classes on 13th January.  Oxford Academy of Dance classes will recommence on Friday 17th January.

This coming Monday 2nd December will be the last of this term’s series of Skinner Releasing Technique classes with Lizzy Le Quesne, followed by Monday 9th December class with Marina Collard.

Enjoy the festive season!

As a pre-Christmas bonus, delighted to welcome back Marina Collard for a one-off class in the contemporary series on Monday 9th December 11.00am-1.00pm.  A great opportunity, not to be missed!  Marina is currently teaching at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance during term time, so we need to make the most of her limited availability.

Please pass the word to colleagues who may wish to take advantage of this; price is £10 for the  class for dancers, and as usual the class is open to artists who would like to sketch for a contribution of £5. Read More

Drawing your attention to a new programme of classes starting next Monday 25th November at URC.  Lesley Tunstall is not only a highly experienced ballet dancer and teacher recently arrived back in England from USA, but also a Shakti Flow Yoga practitioner offering a unique slant on this flowing movement practice.  This looks to be a wonderful way to start the week!

Following a very positive response to the 5 classes in Skinner Releasing Technique with Lizzy Le Quesne, we have decided to continue these, with the aim to complete the full programme of 15 classes.  The plan is to do a further 3 classes from the series this term, and then 8 in the New Year.  Obviously this will be dependent on maintaining sufficient numbers, so I do hope that as many of you as possible will take advantage of a great local opportunity to experience this fascinating and inspiring approach.

The next three classes are on the following Mondays:
18th, 25th November, 2nd December, 11.00am-1.00pm at United Reformed Church Hall
The price for these remains at £10 per class for those dancing or £5 for those drawing.  You can find out more about the classes here:

Please spread the word to any friends and colleagues to whom this may be of interest.

See you in class!
